| Distillate Receivers
Type 1, Crow
Type 2, Cylindrical
A distillate receiver is used to measure the volume of liquid collected from a distillation. A Crow receiver has a tapered section at the base to measure small volumes of liquid. It is used particularly for the collection of distillate in oil and tar tests. A cylindrical receiver is similar to a standard measuring cylinder, but has graduations below 10ml, again for measuring small volumes of liquid.
Both types come in Class A or Class B.
Class A receivers are calibrated to half the tolerance of Class B cylinders and each has a unique serial number for traceability. A certificate of accuracy traceable to national standards can be provided if required. Class A receivers are used in analytical labs, quantative labs, and other controlled environments. |
