Volumetric Flasks
Volumetric flasks are used for precise dilutions and preparation of standard solutions. Each flask is calibrated to contain a precise volume at a 20°C reference temperature.
Class A and Class B Volumetric Flasks are manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO 1042:2000 from heat resistant borosilicate glass with permanent enamel print and polypropylene stopper.
Choosing your Volumetric Flask:
- For basic measurements in qualitative work a Class B flask is sufficient. Typical applications might be making up stock solutions for qualitative and basic quantitative work. Used in schools, universities and research laboratories.
- For making up quantitative solutions where precision is important Class A is appropriate. Class A flasks are calibrated to half the tolerance of Class B. Each has a unique serial number for traceability, with certification if required. Used in analytical labs, quantitative labs and other controlled environments. Class A flasks are not suitable for work which demands accuracy of less than 0.1%; for that a gravimetric method (0.0001%+) should be used.
- Amber flasks are appropriate where the solution is light sensitive. We only supply these to Class A standard.
